Explained | J&K and Ladakh become Union Territories: What it means

The erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir has now officially ceased to exist and the two Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have come into existence. This comes 86 days after the Parliament revoked the special status enjoyed by it under Article 370. The UT of Jammu and Kashmir will have a legislature like Puducherry with an elected legislative assembly and a chief minister. Ladakh, on the other hand, will be a UT without legislature like Chandigarh. Watch this video to understand what this means for the two regions.

I think POK already part of india. Bcoz Cancelation of 370 article means it includes POK. There is no need of war to get POK. Pakistan can do self dismiss it's military from POK.👍

The fact is greatly reducing local autonomy and inviting Military to impose curfews and restrictions on the people does not lead to a more stable or developed Jammu and Kashmir . J&K economy has been greatly affected by BJP move Tourism industry have totally collapsed while locals specially in Kashmir valley area are still in a state of protest by shutting down their business J & K is in a state of chaos Kashmiri integration in India upon military might have led mostly Kashmiri Muslim population loosing trust in Indian Government many of them are now inclining towards Pakistan a golden opportunity for Pakistan to earn the trust of betrayed Kashmiri People and annex J&K into Pakistan well done BJP Indian governemnt you have evolved a small Kashmiri resistance against India into a Popular rebillion against India well done India for breeding the grounds for your own dimise may God be with the side which is more just .
