In this SAS demonstration, Teri Patsilaras of SAS shows tips for working with multiple data sources in SAS Visual Analytics. She shows how to add data sources to a SAS VA report, the easiest way to assign Data Roles to Objects, how to configure a prompt Control Object for multiple data sources, how to combine data sources using a report-level data join, and how to add a header or footer with information for multiple data sources. These techniques can be applied to releases of SAS Visual Analytics 7.4 and later, but the Data Join feature is available for releases 8.3 and later.

Teri Patsilaras has been at SAS for over 15 years and focuses on how to efficiently and effectively apply data visualization techniques using SAS Visual Analytics.

Great!
Can you do a report level concatenation of datasets? Assuming it has the same column variables.

It looks straightforward but what makes very painful to users is that if you need to combine four regions then you have to do this data join 3 times... I hope SAS can have a "SQL" like join function like Tableau, A join join should be able to defined within a query so you don't have to have that process to combine those sparse columns. This disadvantage really makes SAS Viya less preferable than other products.

We would think that by mapping two different tables, we could use directly their content in one graphic or table, it is unfortunate to have to think everything before, and do it by joining several tables with several columns. It is not very flexible compared to other tools in the market
