Track II.

AUSTIN O’Donnell and CALEB Weaver sang three Christmas carols together to share warmth and hope with their friends and family, near and far.

I pray these humble recordings of familiar songs, in the familiar voices of your friends, will help you to wonder about your own place in the ongoing narrative of Jesus - creativity, fall, promise, anticipation, nativity, life, death, resurrection, promise, anticipation, eternal hope, real life forever.

Just as ancient Israel ached for the arrival of their promised Messiah, so we ache for the arrival of our promised King. Just as they found themselves in one part of the foretold narrative, so we find ourselves in another. And like Jesus came, so He will come again.

He began the process of restoring our bent, hurt world; He’ll return and bring the restoration to fullness.

That, my friends, is our hope. A hopeful life is oriented toward the promise of God and its daily decisions are made based on something that hasn’t completely happened yet. Hope informs faith and faithful living.

When you find yourself in the narrative, may you make friends with the anticipation of everything made right and step into the position prepared for you to help make it so.

If you don’t carry the hope, but you feel the ache, please let’s talk more. Hope is for sharing.
