I feel like RWBY is gradually trying to introduce the idea that, even in life's chaos, even if things aren't perfect, optimism is possible.

It's Monty's "keep moving forward" extended into a full song.

I like how the line, "but time will mend our hearts" is contraposed with the line, "not every open wound is simply healed by time" from _Die_. Genius lyricism from Jeff as always!

My wife loved this song when it played during Season 4. She had been battling ovarian cancer for two years, and this song spoke very heavily to her.

She passed away on June 3rd, 8:07pm GMT -5. She really would have wanted to hear the remainder of the song.

The portion at 2:45 still gives me chills, because seriously.. It's exactly how she would have wanted to be remembered.

This song is an anthem to her last two years on this earth, and I thank you for sharing this. It's.. Been a big help.

This is the best RWBY opening and I will die on this hill, from the lyrics to the beat to Casey's vocals, it's just perfect

I love the memento to Monty (and also Pyrrha) . Hearing it the first time made me start to cry. "Always keep moving forward" is RWBY's "Memory is the key".

"Go forward, you must keep moving on." I keep this song to my heart from this day on.

This Will Be The Day: opening full of energy for a new show ready to burst onto the scene

Time To Say Goodbye: opening still energetic, but now hinting at a more somber and solemn background atmosphere and future

When It Falls: opening that let's us know that now the show takes its dark turn and all hell breaks loose

This song: opening that gives us hope, even in this new, unfamiliar, and even uncomfortable atmosphere, that we can return somewhat to the way things were

Jeff Williams could almost craft the stories based on the songs alone. Thank you so much to him, Casey, and RT for this wonderful show and music, and thanks to Flynt for giving us the lyrics to go with it. Can't wait to see what The Next Step will be!

*See what I did there. I have unlocked my inner Barbara. ;)*

Getting into RWBY really late. I love this song so much. I wasn't prepared for how emotional the full version would make me feel

This song speaks to me in so many levels.

I've been battling depression ever since my mom passed last year. I'm left with what they call "survivor's guilt" and I feel hopeless. I feel stuck in life, hung up with the feelings of regret and yet hoping hard enough everything gets better. this song encapsulates the extreme sadness and the hope of a better tomorrow I'm constantly feeling

I just can't get my crap together today. Noticed a big error on ANOTHER (this) video after I uploaded it. Ended up having to delete, fix, render, then re-upload the video. *Sigh*
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy!

"And the story takes an unexpected turn/A friend is suddenly gone-"
WE SPENT AN ENTIRE YEAR GETTING OVER THEM AND THEN YOU BACK THE SADNESS TRUCK UP AND RUN US OVER AGAIN?!

I just love how the opening just describe the future events of RWBY or the whole season itself
that part for Phyrra though 💔

You know when I first heard the volume 4 intro I thought "huh this isn't that good, this might be Jeff's first song I don't really like" but after hearing the full song I love it, it's beautiful, a masterpiece. Is Jeff just incapable of making songs that aren't amazing or a bad song like WOW.

What I've realized about this song is fhat after the memorial section to Monty - expressing how we should keep moving forward - the song goes into a quiet moment of observation and mourning. Because that moment where you reflect and mourn your loss is still incredibly vital... But soon enough, the guitar kicks back in (maybe where anger comes in at times) and the chorus comes back around again. It's an amazing representation of a healthy grieving process for me.

This is unironically one of my favorite songs of all time. It's practically perfect in every way I can think of, has so many amazing lyrics, the slow part near the end always fucking DESTROYS me emotionally... and then the transition from the pits of hopelessness to finally being happy again is JUST. SO. GOOD.
I will never not love this masterpiece...

All these people saying that this song wasn't the best to them, and I'm just over here like, this is the first opening I liked the moment it started playing the first time. It's been my favorite since the first time I heard it and in my opinion is the most heartfelt, catchy, and altogether beautiful openings to be made for RWBY. Of course, this is also taking into account that Casey's voice was an acquired taste for me. I absolutely hated it at first, I didn't get why my datemate was so obsessed with her. But now here I am. just as obsessed if not more.
