Another reason that Temu is problematic is because they r literally stealing photos of other creators without their knowledge

Rae, please be careful using Temu. They have security issues and have been accused of exposing people to identity theft.

The problem with Temu isnt the overconsumption! It is the inhumane treatment of factory workers. These workers suffer, plenty of videos have come out proving the horrible conditions and how much the factories in China get away with when it comes to mistreatment of workers.

I dont understand sellers who do this. It is wrong. I am a person who has no money to my name and I wouldnt stoop that low to make some quick cash. I am instead working my butt off to get certified for a career that I will make good money in once I finish.
We need to call out people who have poor ethics whether its a giant company or one person doing this crap.

I think the main reason I try hard not to buy from these kinds of places is the high probability of slave labor, but then again if all these things are literally from the same place probably everywhere is supporting slavery however aware or unaware.

so glad people are realizing that sellers are doing this.. it rlly sucks, but my way of going about it is if youre buying literally anything reverse image search the product images (doesnt work everytime since sometimes the manufacturers copy others)

I'll be honest, sometimes it's worth it to me to buy my supplies on Amazon when it will arrive in 2 days rather than waiting for it to ship from China in 2 weeks or even a month.

You do realize the reason temu is so cheap is they literally sell your info/data …..PS apparently a lot of you don’t seem to realize it’s not just your data it’s your PERSONAL INFO, THE SAME COMPANY USED TO OWN A GAMBLING APP but got called out and shut down for stealing PERSONAL INFO from users and selling it online LIKE BANK CARDS AND IDS- they sell your cards to others and your numbers ect which isn’t the same as just collecting data to sell things to you…you may like

I feel so frustrated when rae says that bad watercolors are hard to make. Vibrancy in colors is something that can be easily obtained by using color enhancers which lower the lightfastness of paint. Moreover enhancers and fillers make the watercolor harder to layer (which is the Entire point of watercolors!) Paints like Cotman and Van gough (which she has said to be Highest of quality previously, are also not the best paints on the market. It's sad that she doesn't do her research before speaking. This is especially bad because if a beginner sees this and buys a cheap cheap watercolor, they will hatee it and will think all the paints are same. This would lead to them thinking that watercolor is bad. I'm just so disappointed.

I can't support a company that directly copies designers work for fast fashion.

This all happens because of cheap labour. I know exactly how that is, worked for a company where the cheapest item was half of our payment plus usually people ordered large quantities so you can imagine how much the boss made on our poor labour.

I have a mechanical pencil (or a pacer) that I've had for close to 26 years. It was from one of those cute Asian stationary stores and had Winnie-the-Pooh on the side. It no longer has Winnie on it and the clip broke off years ago, but it still works and is my go-to for sketching ❤

I wouldn’t recommend using Temu, SHEIN, etc., like, ever. Not only are their products low quality, and some just straight up scams, but they also use sweatshops and child labor.

Whenever I buy items from either Amazon or Temu, I comparison shop between them, as they do often have the same identical products. While, unsurprisingly, the majority of the time the prices are cheaper on Temu, you'd be surprised how many art supplies actually cost MORE on Temu than on Amazon.

You should make a video all about those beautiful Etsy watercolors. Like “I bought the most beautiful watercolors” or something like that.

You got one thing wrong by adding shein there. Temu is not a manufacturer like shein is. Temu is just a giant marketplace with different stores and sellers. There are very similar websites to the temu like aliexpress and Amazon. They virtually operate the same. They host sellers and you can visit their shops. I was actually looking over there for a nail polish stand but I have no place to put it. I just wanted something nice to display my gels in and keep them separate from my traditional nail polishes now that I do both.

hello! if you do post a video about this on your main channel, i think you should let people know that temu isnt exactly the best company morally. temu uses forced labor. they also export products from xingjiang and import the products into the US. america made it illegal for products to be imported from xingjiang, but since xingjiang has a lot of forced labor, its cheaper for temu to import anyways. temu also abuses a tax loophole called "de minimis." overall, temu is a really shady company, and i think that you should warn people about that just incase they dont wanna support a company with those practices. really cool video though!! :)

I agree, lately I've been getting weird vibes from the watercolor that I bought from Temu, and I just recently found out that OTHER watercolors look the exact same. Super weird.

Id like to say that not all drop shippers do nothing other than put orders in. Some drop shipping companies actually manufacture the products to the sellers specifications, such as Art of Where producing and shipping sellers art printed on home decor and clothing products. Im sure there are other companies that do the same.
