no bird?? Dude, bird changed the game. He was a passing big who can shoot, post up and top 5 passer ever. Bird is the perfect archetype of a player for today's game

i'd like to add Lew Alcindor (aka Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) in College Basketball years at UCLA :was so dominating that NCAA forbade dunking, and he gradually improved the "Sky-hook", that became his "trademark"

You should do “Every time Shaq and Rodman faced off”

Magic changed the game off the court too. Now a days players like LeBron, KD and Steph look at investing more and building a brand outside the basketball world just like Magic did with Starbucks and movie theaters.

mj is the reason we have longer shorts, when he played he wore his tar heel shorts beneath his bulls/wizards shorts. so they had to be custom made longer so people wouldn’t notice them. the whole league followed his example

So glad dirk finally got some respect. He’s so underrated and people don’t realize he literally changed the game.
People dare to even not put him in the top 50 players of all time. That’s stupid he’s top 10 imo

Kobe showed that you can still have a career outside of basketball after you retire.

Pete Maravich, Ball Handling and Passing

In terms of the modern day 1 or 2 guards (PG and SG) No man was more influential, in a 7 year span he torched the league in route to changing the game of how you can bring a little flash to the game.

His court vision is with Magic, with his behind the back plays, underhanded high velocity half court passes, behind the back passes, athletic steals that led to scoring in transition. Also, his fluidity on how he moved with the ball was then copied and improved upon by every player after him.

His shooting ability was second to none, Pete had the SMOOTHEST mid-range jump shot. Being able to chuck up shots quickly, and damn near hit over 50% of them.

He also did this on 2 horrid knees, genetics he inherited from his family. Which cut his promising career short.

Hey Nonstop Sports. I like this list. But you should have also added George Mikan, Bob Cousy, Bill Russell, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Larry Bird too. They were very instrumental to the game of Basketball.

Mikan is the person who revolutionised the Center position. Shaq said it best" Without number 99 there is no me" .

Bob Cousy set the standard for a great Point Guard.

Russell changed the game from a horizontal one to a vertical one.

Elgin was the first high flying artist. He is the one who inspired DR. J.

Jerry West revolutionised the Jumpshot

Bird showed you can strike fear into the hearts of the opponent by staying outside the three point line.

Other than this video is great. Great content.

Larry Bird proven hard work beats talent. He's a game changer who never gets his due love

You all forgot the original GOAT George Mikan!
They added the Shot Clock and widened the lane from 6’ to 12’ all because of Mikan.
Not to mention 7 championships in 8 seasons.
Also the Logo himself Jerry West.
Mr Triple Double Oscar Roberts.
Pistol Pete Maravich.
Some might say the League was weaker back then, if there wasn’t a “weaker” league there wouldn’t be what we have today.

Can I just mention how well-done this video is?

Great video! Somehow you gotta expand the list to include Larry Bird and Shaq.

MJ made the NBA and basketball, in general, a worldwide sport.
Yao Ming made basketball extremely popular in China.
Kobe's Mamba mentality inspires and pushes young athletes to play harder every day.
Steph Curry made the modern NBA shoot more 3's than ever before.

Giannis is proving to the world that a European player can be the face of the league (Dirk still on top though).
