In this church I attended my first Mass in Italy, way back in 1996, so it"s a very special place to me.

A 4th century foundation? Did I hear that right? It amazes me how current architecture cannot hold a candle to ancient structures such as these.

My favorite part of this Church is the circle of frescos depicting the Passion of Christ. It strikes at the heart of every faithful and brings to mind the ultimate sacrifice given for our sins. As you pointed in your live video this morning on Instagram, the contrast of the frescos with the statue of the pieta makes an impression on the visitor. I also could not help but be drawn to the apse columns, but I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s my faulty memory, but I don’t remember apses having columns before now.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m getting used to the point of the tour itself—a deep dive into the life of Christ, His Passion and Resurrection. While I look forward to the blessed Easter morning, I will be sad because these wonderful lessons about Christ through His early churches will be over.

Please light a candle for me to fight against the temptations of the flesh. I really enjoy your presentations Mr Stein. Thank you. Kevin Simpson.

The Pieta is so very beautiful! Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us!

" Look, look at what your sins have done. Look at my Son. YOU have slaughtered the Lamb, but He has taken away your sins." How many times has this been said? But once more, in a different tone, in a different setting and it hits harder.

from central Louisiana USA (a little southeast of Nebraska). Another beautiful church that I walked by in my two visits to Rome several years ago but didnt go in. At least this one was not hidden behind plywood like yesterday's church. Looking forward to listing to your radio interview. Btw Radio Maria USA is 7 minutes from my driveway. Maybe you can do an interview with Fr Dan Reehil one day? One of you would have to go to bed late or wake up early but would be so great!
