Crazy Speaker CHANGED my mind! It Crushes under $150!!!!

I did not like the Micca RB42 when I heard them years ago. I got them back in to see if they were better than I remembered. I may have got it wrong. Could be the best speaker under $150!

HI Randy, could it be that the previous time you tested the RB42s you were using bad or suboptimal electronics for this speaker? Did you try the same setup as before? The thing is electronics can sometimes make all the difference in sound quality.

. . . with the RB-42, put a high-pass filter in line between Micca and amp, set about 100hz, with a powered sub . . . use TIDAL connect, decent amp, you will have audio nerveana, for under a grand, also an externalDAC.

Can you use these with a Wiim amp? I’m not planning on using a sub at this point.

I recently observed a serious flaw in all models of Micca speakers. The screws holding the speaker magnets (cone brackets) never tighten up! Infact they just unscrew themselves just by the slight vibrations of the woofer. This is unacceptable design flaw by Micca. I recommend everyone to take off your speaker grills and check how good the screws are holding up. In most cases, they would be barely tight. What is most annoying is even if you try to tighten them up, they just don't. I believe its due to a very poor MDF quality which is incapable of holding up a screw thread. I am returning 5 pairs of mine due to this issue.
