EXPLAINED: How to Install/Uninstall Program in Linux Using PACKAGE MANAGERS [apt, dpkg, yum, rpm]

Default Package Manager in DEBIAN / UBUNTU system is :

1) dpkg which is a backend tool for the more powerful apt system
2) apt as Frontend
3) aptitude (GUI of apt)

For RED HAT LINUX distros like Fedora or CentOS:

1) rpm as Backend
2) yum as Frontend

In the end, we will go to a Ubuntu system and Uninstall Firefox and then Install Chrome Browser using apt Package Manager.

Thank you for these great videos.  I have Debian in Virtual Box on Windows.  You make me feel less apalled at the thought of losing "Seven", as I won't do Eight nor Ten. You make Linux seem  logical, organized, open, and, funny word but, "willing" to please.  This must be because your videos, being organized, comprehensive cincise and accurate, let that shine through. correction : the apt-get update will upgrade the repositories not the prgrammes that you have on your disto however the apt-get upgrade will do
