The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing to discuss how to prevent abuse of unaccompanied minors at the border after Senate Democrats linked the Labor Department’s lack of resources to child labor law violations earlier this summer.

Democratic lawmakers are pushing to increase the Labor Department budget, while Republicans suggest the Biden administration’s immigration policy is partly to blame.

Coming in on the basis of asylum IS LEGAL. WE are signatories to international treaties that allow people to seek asylum here. Is he suggesting that the treaties we were the main architects of and signed were just for the OTHER countries? Are we hypocrites? Just want to go back on our word? Like with Iran? Look how great that had turned out.

Senator- if you don’t like that legal rout you have far more power than the average American to draft and campaign for legislation to remove us from that treaty. If you REALLY think that is something we shouldn’t allow stop this political theatre beating up civil servants WHO DON’T MAKE THE LAWS!

Making the laws is LITERALLY YOUR JOB. So stop talking for pathetic soundbites and DO YOUR JOB - START LEGISLATING.

But you won’t, because you don’t actually want to end illegal or asylum immigrants- you know they are actually vital to many of our critical industries, especially in feel production- work you would absolutely see as “beneath” you and yours. You want them to keep coming to use these poor HUMAN BEEING as political footballs you can sow division with to distract from the massive corruption in your party. Despicable.

Don’t blame civil servants or the executive branch that can’t pass laws, when you- the legislative branch- are the only ones who can change these things and deliberately refuse to do so because if you solved one of the most divisive issues in the country… you couldn’t use it to misdirect or use poor people to sever your agenda of misinformation and punching down.

You are responsible for writing legislation to fix problems, but instead you have these cheap arguments that you incredibly misrepresent for NOTHING BUT WEAK SOUND BITES.

Do your job, stop blaming others for your failures, especially the weakest and most vulnerable. We all see it. We are sick of it.

Not only are they coming in under the guise of asylum, but they are only using this after they have been caught illegally crossing the borders. They do not typically use the legal points of entry or follow any of the correct procedures or laws, including International Laws governing this. Only Mexican and Canadians and a handful of islands off our borders can seek asylum in the US. You are supposed to apply at the FIRST country outside your country of origin's borders that is safe to do so. They are seeking either illegal activity, financial gains, or government handouts. Personally I think if they do go to the consulates properly, but are not eligible they should be rejected immediately. If they try to enter illegally the should be sent to a work can helping to build the wall (clearing areas around the walls, upkeep of roads, painting...) and be barred from applying to enter the US for 5 years.

I have no trouble with anyone coming to America, but do it legally!!! Pay into our system before you stick a hand out expecting FREE anything!
