If you are just summing you could use count from dplyr.

This was very helpful for me,
I have this weird problem where i'm losing data though.
Example the largest single value i have is $3200. (should be about $5200, not weight)
but my largest aggregated value is $2600. (with a different diet lol)
and many of my values have turned to N/A.
Is there a way to validate the amount so it is not dropped?
