Radio beacons are automatic amateur radio stations that broadcast telegraph signals from some location. Their purpose is usually to examine the conditions of propagation of radio signals by radio waves. When we hear a radio headlight, we monitor its signal, stability, signal strength and we can conclude something from that. There are a lot of them in the world. They are used on virtually all frequency bands. The video shows a radio beacon from Austria, OE3XTR, working from the JN87AT locator, which is about 320 km away from our location JN95CI. Its transmitter is located at 950masl, uses a dipole antenna of circular radiation horizontally polarized and its output power is 5W. We can find out all this from the text received by telegraphy, which the device automatically types: OE3XTR JN87AT 950MASL DIPOLE 5W. In addition to telegraph signs, the transmitter also types longer constant tone intervals..
We used: YAESU FT-1000MP MkV, JAVORNIK transverter and 2xbvo2-4 LONG YAGI beamed in proper QTF (Bearing 330 deg). The appearance of QSB can also be noticed (attenuation and strengthening of the signal we are listening to)
