I'm an old Grandma now, and I was raised by two Dads way back in a time being gay was no where near as accepted as it is now. We had to keep it secret. I understood at a very young age what could happen to our family if anyone knew. My Dads loved me without reserve, supported me in anything I did, they were my mentors, my strength and were always in my corner. I miss them dearly every day.

As a gay man, I’ve always had such love and acceptance from women, straight women in particular. They have always been the ones who have approached me, given me their time, complimented me, become my close friends, offered me support/love and really made me feel accepted! A gay man taught me how to decorate my house, how to dress, how to do make-up, how to wear my hair, always arranged my scarves, bought me big chunky jewellery, taught me how to be a great hostess for guests. I miss him every day of my life. 2020 Took him away and there is no replacement for him in my existence.
