Just a quick tip here today about how to cool your heat stressed lawn with mid day watering. This is pretty simple process in which you can run your sprinklers or irrigation system for 5-10 minutes during the heat of the day to cool down the lawn and relieve heat stress.

I'm glad someone finally recommended this. Every blog, article, "expert, " etc says never water midday because of water conservation/waste concerns. They're not thinking with your lawn actually in mind.

After watching your video on the plant growth regulator I decided to give it a try and have been pleasantly surprised. It really does work. I applied at about 0.6 oz per 1000 square feet last Tuesday and still haven’t needed to mow yet. Usually it could be mowed after 3-4 days. The lawn is nice and green and the mowing schedule is much more manageable. Thanks!

Thatnks for the the tip. I know its year past since you posted this video but heres a tip and a thanks. Ill repair the rot in that wall with the window. Having the house wrap tucked/folded back into the house is a no no. Whoever did that with the house wrap and or separately installed that window shouldnt have and should've cut it flush with the opening and at the top put the wrap over the window flashing, what coming back into the house does is just creat path for water into the house, be it driving rains, moisture from condensation, or water vapor rising up behind the house wrap, it will travel along the house wrap inside or outside of the wrap right into the opening, then rotting the sill and then the sheathing.

I agree. A lot of people frown upon watering during the day. I look at it like this, everything needs water to grow, stray hydrated obviously and plants, animals and bugs are all alike in ways. One being we need water lol. I think you can easily over do it, but just a little bit of h20 will do it good

So it's a myth that watering in hot heat will cause your lawn to burn? That is good to know. I don't have an automatic watering system, and don't always have a good window for watering while avoiding sun, and avoiding watering too late. Will start giving this a try. Your lawn looks pretty amazing.

I have been doing this the past few years. When it gets to warm I run the sprinklers in the middle of the day for about 10- 15 minutes. My neighbors probably think I am wasting water because I am not watering for very long. It does help. I have been getting a lot of compliments on how nice my lawn looks.

Do you pull and drain your hoses after each use? I always have to drain mine because the water remaining is always very hot from baking in this heat

T-NEX (growth inhibitor)... why are you trying to slow the "growth" of your lawn or is it just to add deeper green to your cool season Kentucky Blue Grass?

I Wish I Could Do That! My City Has Us Down To 3 Days A Week And Between 6PM-8AM For Irrigation or $1000 Fine
