#1 The price of housing doubled in 2 years.
#2 The price of food doubled in 2 years.
#3 The price of new cars doubled in 2 years.
#4 The average paycheck went up 3% in 2 years.
Question, of the three iteams listed above witch one can you live without?
Seems pretty obvious.

When a base petrol Golf costs about £27, 000 in the UK (about $35, 000 USD), you know there’s a problem. Where do they think private buyers will get the money from? This should be an average persons car and they’ve priced them out of contention. Don;t even go there on their EV prices!

They don’t make the cars people want anymore, that’s the issue. Go back to building cars from 10 years ago and sales will rocket. Nobody wants an expensive, nanny state controlled vehicle, especially electric?! You can’t sell a product that nobody wants.

Few years ago a decent medium car was costing around 25, 000 EUR, today the average price is around 50, 000 EUR.
This prices are insane. Nobody wants to be stealed of his own money.

Spare me these over complicated auto's that likely cannot be repaired if disabled. Get rid of the cumbersome touch screens that control everything and seem to develop glitches on a regular basis that only the dealer can resolve.

I’ve had 2 Volkswagens in the last 10 years, both bought brand new, never again will I touch one…they are lemons! Constant problems and issues, our last service was $4500 once they identified everything wrong with it, at this point I said to my wife we are selling it and now looking at buying a BYD.

It's not just electric cars that are Germany's problem, the build quality of petrol & diesels have fallen to shite levels.

The cars are way to expensive.They need to sell cars for 15000€.But the price tag is a crazy 50000€ !!!The biggest problem is that the population doesn't have MONEY anymore !!!

Not just in Germany, and not just expensive models. Your story has helped me figure out why our small city in UK has 30+ beige VW Polo’s, pre registered with ‘24 plates, sitting in a hidden parking lot for the last eleven months!

I think that the EU is also partly responsible, by making many electronic assistance systems mandatory, which do not respect privacy, and which further increase the price. I myself do not want a new car that interferes with everything.

Well, the EU decided to force EVs on people, and China makes EVs. German cars live on the reputation of their engines. An EV doesn't have an engine. A stupid own goal of monumental proportion.
