During it's prime, The Mig 29 was one of the deadliest interceptors. In the 1999 Kargil war, the Mig29s armed with BVR capability, ensured that the PAF F16s stayed out of the battle as PAF lacked BVR capability then. in the recent Air battle in 2019, there was a good chance of the Mig29 taking out an F16. The fully loaded Mig29s were around 10 mins away from the battle field. Before their arrival, Abhinandan had already shot a PAF F16 with his Mig21. In turn he was also shot down and he had to eject over POK.

Role in Kargil for keeping F16s away and role in Ladakh for keeping J10s away would always be remembered.
When this thing goes up in air of high altitudes - none of the rivals dare come in its engagement range even in their own airspace.
I hope that it gets our indigenous radar and armaments soon.

Awesome Video as always the Mig 29 with the upg upgrade has become formidable but I feel it needs to be additionally upgraded with an AESA radar and dual pylons for BVR missiles as of now it can carry only 4 BVR and 2 WVR missiles which in an intense battle would be less.
