Eleanor Tomlinson has revealed that she experienced emotional high and lows during the coronavirus pandemic. Speaking to Radio Times on Tuesday the Poldark star, 28, said of the national lockdown: 'It has been the most extraordinary experience. 'There have been moments of incredible happiness and also times of immense sadness,' she added.   Eleanor continued: 'I yearn for the day we don't have to wear masks any more...To be able to hug someone would be so amazing. I've really missed being able to do that.' The actress has recently been filming for a new show, The Offenders, for the BBC and Amazon in Bristol.  And she described being on set as a 'welcome reprieve' from the lockdown measures that caused her rollercoaster of emotions. The Poldark star is set to play one of The Offenders' central characters, Gabby, alongside the legendary American star Christopher Walken, 78, who stars as Frank.  Eleanor traded her Poldark petticoat and corset for a high-visibility vest as she carried out community service as Gabby, in a Bristol park last Tuesday. Clutching a takeaway coffee and a hot water bottle, the actress appeared to be in high spirits as she relaxed on set. Filming for the programme ground to a halt after just 12 days due to health concerns, but work has since continued in earnest as Britain's third national lockdown starts to ease. It's understood that the BBC has already commissioned a second series of the show - - before the first has even finished post-production. The broadcaster's demand means both series' one and two are being filmed back-to-back in Somerset, with award winning production company Big Talk charged with putting it together. Reflecting on the BBC's unorthodox decision to commission a second series before gauging the popularity of the first, Big Talk boss Kenton Allen told Deadline: ‘We said, "We’ll write Season 2 if you commission Season 2". ‘We were able to rewrite Season 1 to reflect what we know is going to happen to the characters in Season 2. We were able to deepen it and layer it.’The new show will also star Darren Boyd, Gamba Cole, Rhianne Barreto and Clare Perkins. The full interview is available in this week's Radio Times.
