(not my typical trailer music uploads, but i kinda like this track alot, when i saw trailer, the song got me addicted to the trailer, and song fits the trailer quite well, quite an emotional track for this type of trailer. ofc tho, the song is a little different on trailer)

i was obsessed w this song as a middle schooler when it came out im 23 now. this song always reminds me that life is a gift and that we have a choice on how we react to the obstacles placed in our path. i hope whoever reads this remembers their importance and the value that time holds in our blip of existence. spread love <3

*I listened to this song so much more than 5 years ago because I went deaf 5 years ago. This song actually helped me get through my depression before I even had it. I know that don't make sense but it does for me because what I did to cope when I fully lost my hearing was, I..I...i remembered all the wonderful soundtracks I once use to listen too..Now, I can only hear these soundtracks in my dreams now or just my memories..*

So much nostalgia listening to this. I was a freshman in high school when this trailer/movie came out and now flash forward to 5 years later.
Good times..

RIP Jóhann, one of the best musicians of all time. 😭😭😭 This is one of my favorites of his.

This, and "This is Not the End" from Edge of Tomorrow, sound like the song you'd listen to when all hope is lost, when humanity is dying and the only way to prevent the destruction of everything is to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Only heard now that he has passed on,
R.I.P. you genius
And thank you for making me feel every emotion in every piece of your music xx

Either we are alone in this universe or we are not, both statements are equally as terrifying.

Who else is amazed that if it wasn't for the Battle: Los Angeles trailer, we'd probably never come across this incredible piece of music! Johann Johannsson is an artist I'll be following from now on. =D

I can’t believe it’s been almost 10 years since this music came out.

I hum these lyrics very often. Crazy to think about how long I’ve done it. So many years I’ve just silently hummed them to myself ever since the movie came out.

This song fits well with the event called the "Seven Hour War" which is part of the lore of Half-Life 2. To summarize the Seven Hour War, all of Earth's combined military forces were defeated within seven hours by the Combine during their alien invasion. This lead to every country and continent to collapse and lose their government power.

All of humanity's hope, lost just within seven hours.

If anything could describe war and loss against a hopelessly superior enemy as perfectly as this, it’s this one.

I want to go to Barrow, Alaska and play this song over a PA system right before the sun fades away for December.
