Sam Witwer explains in detail how he along with Dave Filoni helped make the Sith Code canon again. The Sith Code was previous Legends and from the KOTOR games so to see it be brought back into live action is really cool!

Star Wars is an American epic space opera multimedia franchise created by George Lucas, which began with the eponymous 1977 film and quickly became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon.

The Star Wars franchise depicts the adventures of characters "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away", in which humans and many species of aliens (often humanoid) co-exist with robots (typically referred to in the films as 'droids'), who may assist them in their daily routines; space travel between planets is common due to lightspeed hyperspace technology. The planets range from wealthy, planet-wide cities to deserts scarcely populated by primitive tribes. Virtually any Earth biome, along with many fictional ones, has its counterpart as a Star Wars planet which, in most cases, teem with sentient and non-sentient alien life. The franchise also makes use of other astronomical objects such as asteroid fields and nebulae. Spacecraft range from small starfighters, to huge capital ships such as the Star Destroyers, to space stations such as the moon-sized Death Stars. Telecommunication includes two-way audio and audiovisual screens, holographic projections, and HoloNet (internet counterpart).

The universe of Star Wars is generally similar to ours but its laws of physics are less strict allowing for more imaginative stories. One result of that is a mystical power known as the Force which is described in the original film as "an energy field created by all living things ... [that] binds the galaxy together". The field is depicted as a kind of pantheistic god. Through training and meditation, those whom "the Force is strong with" exhibit various superpowers (such as telekinesis, precognition, telepathy, and manipulation of physical energy). It is believed nothing is impossible for the Force. The mentioned powers are wielded by two major knightly orders at conflict with each other: the Jedi, peacekeepers of the Galactic Republic who act on the light side of the Force through non-attachment and arbitration, and the Sith, who use the dark side by manipulating fear and aggression. While Jedi Knights can be numerous, the Dark Lords of the Sith (or 'Darths') are intended to be limited to two: a master and their apprentice.

Force-wielders are very limited in numbers in comparison to the population. The Jedi and Sith prefer the use of a weapon called a lightsaber, a blade of plasma that can cut through virtually any surface and deflect energy bolts. The rest of the population, as well as renegades and soldiers, use plasma-powered blaster firearms. As a result of galaxy-scaled politics (involving republics, empires, kingdoms, alliances, etc.), all this weaponry is made use of in various military conflicts during which most Star Wars material takes place. In the outer reaches of the galaxy, crime syndicates such as the Hutt cartel are dominant. Bounty hunters are often employed by both gangsters and governments. Illicit activities include smuggling.

I love that episode IV referenced the clone wars, and then we got the clone wars. The movie, then show. Just perfect.

This is exactly what I love about Star Wars. It’s a franchise where practically any story can happen.

I’ve seen people critique ‘Andor’ by saying that “you could set it in a generic space setting and nothing would change” like that’s a bad thing, but to me it shows how versatile it can be.

The ‘clone wars’ show itself was so great for this reason too!! Getting to see a squad go from training sims to shiny’s to veterans, Anakin getting into trouble with Obi-wan and Ahsoka, etc.

Yesterday I found out Sam Witwer is Deacon St John from ‘days gone’. For the past 4 years I’ve thought it was the guy who does the voice of Joel

"George never ever tried to retrace his steps or rehash something he did"

Yeah, I dont think george lucas is known for redoing anything. Whenever he finished something he was totally done and never tried to do it again

I think the Acolyte has taught us that you also need talent. Clone Wars is brilliant because it’s written well… by someone who respects and believes in star wars… but is sick of what’s already been done.

I grew up with the OT and didn't think anything would surpass it, but TCW is my absolute favourite part of the SW saga now. So much so that I have a photo with Ashley, Matt & Dee.
Unfortunately, James was ill that day :-(

George naming his kid "Jett" is just... man, so on brand. So "almost" cool.

Sam is maybe one of the biggest Star wars Fans. He is so passionate about the lore.

People forget George Lucas was heavily involved in TCW. It wasn't just Dave Filoni. Lucas came up with a lot of the ideas and approved everything they did. His daughter also was responsible for a lot of the best arcs.

Sam is 100% right here. Clone Wars is the best Star Wars content because it's always doing new and interesting stuff, stuff that can really only be done in a universe like this one. I mean there are plenty of stories where a guy goes undercover to expose a secret plot but where else are you gonna see a story where a guy goes undercover AS HIS OWN KILLER using tech to make himself look and sound just like the man who supposedly killed him. That's fucking awesome. And the format of the show allows it to tell stories that are so vastly different from each other. We get homages to real world wars, incredible stories with new and interesting characters. There's never a need to redo something that's already been done and the quality of the writing and acting pulls it all together

OT, PT, and the Clone Wars each mastered this, pros and cons included, and each in turn succeded and introducted generations to the franchise. The Sequels and even Rebels, though good, struggled if not flopped when being focused on "following" rather than trailblazing.

Though I don't enjoy it as much as others, Andor is a throwback to this formala in spades. A unique vision, style, and audience created not just a hit, but a series that has something recent project have lacked badly - identity.

The heir of Star Wars after Dave Filoni. Seeing how Dave was the heir to George

Sam Witner wearing a Black Mesa shirt is something I never thought I would see. I didn’t expect to hear Darth Maul or Star Killer with a Half-Life shirt on in 2024, that’s something I didn’t have on my bingo card😂😂

Yet a large portion of the fandom choose to ignore or do not understand that. When something happens in Star Wars it becomes cannon so it’s really a blank canvas to expand upon from the source material. There cannot be anything definitively flawed because we are outsiders looking in on a universe we do not control. Just enjoy the ride..

I admire his modesty the most...I genuinely thought he was going to say: "One of the reasons Clone Wars is brilliant is because ... I'm in it!!"....

...and to that I would have simply said: "Thank goodness! He's finally said it - what we were and have ALL been thinking all along..." 😂😂😂

It's not that he's JUST sick of it. He also has a lot of respect for the work and chooses to add more to the world than just what he has heard
