KTM'S brand new for America 1190 Adventure R....everything you wanted and more. Fast, flickable, and fun, fun, fun. There is nothing weird or awkward about this machine. Five minutes on it, and it feels like it's been in your hands for years. Pure E Major Rock & Roll.

I want one but I'm vertically challenged with a 30" inseam. That said my bulk might compress the springs to permit my feet to touch the ground. ;)

So the Standard has more features than the R? Hmm. Too bad you can't get one with a shaft. How many miles per tank? I would be concerned that there might be a problem and no dealership in sight. Cycle World says it's the best bike in the world. Saw a vid showing an 1190 going a bit off road but know that with my KLRs it was a serious challenge ... would think an 1190 would be even more of a whale. Sure looks like a sweet machine! Would love to go desert riding/camping on one. Thanks for posting this!:-)

Hay any response on KTM's "The world's safest motorcycle" PR?? & Why isn't there a review of the 1190 Adventure or the 1290 Adventure??

What is the real gasoline consumption in the city and on the highway? Factory always provides incorrect information.

How was the wind protection :) ? Thinking on getting the 1190 R or 1090 R over the Africa Twin.

Give us cruise control and that's my next bike.  Don't, and I talk to Triumph.  Not having cruise on a bike that has drive-by-wire is absurd.  Why wouldn't you just add the $10 button?  These bikes will primarily be used on long road trips.  Cruise control is a revelation on long trips.  I won't own a bike without it.

I could forgive KTM if we were talking about a complex, expensive system involving vacuum and cables, but with drive-by-wire the engine computer is already directly controlling the throttle.  All "cruise control" requires is a button to say, "keep doing what you're doing."  It costs almost nothing.

If I had an extra 16k laying around, this piggy would be MINE!  Love the components that KTM uses, but I'm just a peasant rider that can't afford all of that tasty goodness.  /envy  I'm currently saving up for either a 500exc or 350exc.  Local dealer has the 350 for just over

Has anyone figured out the trick to getting duplicate keys (without the Orange Master key) made for the 1190 here in the US?Falling victim to the Buyer Beware. . .the dealer didn't tell me they only had one key for the bike until after the sale was completed.  Now I'm planning a road trip and wary about not taking an extra key with me.  I'm hearing it will take over 6 weeks to get one from KTM in Austria but haven't encountered anyone who has went through the process yet.  Surely there has to be somewhere Stateside that these keys can be acquired (BMW has same type of laser-cut keys don't they?)

What sort of review is this?  More a 'look at me'.  Rubbish
