Hey Joel, Thanks for the Manta-ray, I downloaded it and printed it for my wife who is a cashier for a supermarket here in Huntsville, Alabama, I print some other head gear for are local hospitals till the company got their injection molds up and running, she like your design because its works with out a strap, great job on your channel and keep up the good work

Prusa: we force all parts to the build surface. No stacking allowed.

0:28 "Uhh, CTRL+Z... yes!" a sentiment shared by all long-time Prusa Slicer users :P

The speed stack prints that Prusa Research made used tiny spheres embedded between the parts to create the nonempty layers, but these are there to give the perimeters of the bottom layer something to grab onto. It works great unless the support posts detach mid-print, which has happened often enough that I might print with a brim or mouse ears.

Hey, if you change from print settings --> support material --> "XY separation between an object and its support" setting to 100% you can remove the weird support blobs.

When I raise mine, it always falls right back to the build plate. Is there a setting? edit nevermind. Need to add part load. (Helps if I follow instructions).

OMG... so useful!! The most critical part.. is do the "add part" I'd just copy and paste cuz that is familiar.. Not doing that critical step.. it will never float in mid-air

Thank you so much! I have been working with a group printing face shields in my area and we have not been able to nail down stacked prints. I had no clue how to move forward from that error message in prusa slicer and was trying to figure out how to add something just like this!

What about adding a gap which is not exactly one layer height? like 0.15mm with 0.25mm layers? it would help to improve adhesion and lower surface appearance for more complex parts

Aww, I was hoping to see some complicated scaffolding like I've been doing with my resin prints lately to get significantly different parts printed on top of the other joined only by supports. It's a real trick to see on your screen like building a miniature Eiffel tower in resin supports. =)

Does not appear to work for me. it creates the support for the support enforcer but still pops the "empty layers error"

OK appears its a problem with the 2.1.1 version I was using. updated to 2.3 and it does not give the error any longer.

In Prusa Slicer 2.3 when you add the part it doesn't place it in the same place (which is probably more user friendly). So you have to set the position to 0, 0, 0 manually for all parts you add, then change the z-value like in this video.
Also, it just warns you about empty layers now, so no need for a small support enforcer! Nice. :)

Would this one-layer gap between objects cause adhesion problems and lead to mis-prints?

mine doesn't allow to lit it snaps it back to plate?

I did it with something I designed that is thin via the z axis view and it was hard to separate. My guess is it is because it is thin via z axis view. If it was thicker, it would be easier to take apart?

so that’s how you do it.... thanks!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I"m attempting to to stack objects printing with Cheetah TPU on my MK3s. The piece is similar in size & shape to a thin wrist bracelet. When the second item starts to print, I think beacause the TPU is flexible, the TPU is not fusing together and becomes individual strands.
Is it possible to stack objects printing with TPU?
