These bad calls are inching the league (and hopefully all sports) towards electronically making calls wherever possible.

In a world where gambling isn't just legal, but at the core of all pro sports industries, ANYONE who has the power to alter the results of the game who ISNT a player ought to be removed from the equation. The NBA has already had a referee involved game fixing/point shaving scandal. Does each league need to have it's own scandal before they remove the weak links? You don't need to fire them all or anything, just alter their roles to be the 'messenger of the decision'' rather than the 'decider of the message'

I think there should be a limited number of challenges for bad strike/ball calls. I remember being so frustrated in high school with bad calls. It seemed like some umpires had strike zones that started at your ankles
