ozpin is actually the good guy ... I mean, it's not his fault that Salem was so ridiculously persistent, I even think that the punishment the gods gave her was at least fair.

I see a lot of comments like "he deserves it" and "poor Oscar" but what people don't realise is that 1. That punch was for Ozpin not Oscar and 2. Ozpin had every right to hide a secret like that because when revealed everyone would lose hope and 3. He literally just had to watch everyone he ever knew and loved die all over again.

My opinion might not be welcome here seeing all these "it was satisfying" comments, but I don't think Ozpin really deserved to get punched. I don't think he really deserves the shit he's been getting.

Yes, he lied about things he really should not have lied about (such as the relics attracting Grimm), but that didn't give those girls the right to just pick apart his personal life and expose his entire past. Espeically since the Genie that told them about it forced him to watch it alongside them, probably traumatising him all over again, only to receive nothing but scorn and anger from everyone around him, instead of sympathy.
