It's weird -- in the RCR Training course, there's an entire module on "mentorship". While they acknowledge the value of mentorship, they don't actually address the issue (the entire module reminds the trainee of how it's valuable; no mention of a separate training being offered on mentorship). When mentorship and teaching training are opt-ins rather than requirements, there is a HUGE missed opportunity to actually affect positive change on this issue. Thus, your hierarchy regarding the difficult tasks of professors (from research to teaching to mentorship) is not at all surprising to me.
