Sharpening a Chainsaw with Oregon 620 Chainsaw Sharpener

Today I'm in the chainsaw shop sharpening chainsaw chain with my Oregon chainsaw sharpener. We'll look at the parts of the chainsaw chain, and I'll show you how to set the different angles on the Oregon 620 chainsaw sharpener.

The adjustment you described as setting the depth is actually for the side plate angle which should be 60 degrees for the chain you're sharpening. The depth is set using the red knob to the right of the wheel.

Those grinders are good for beginners. Soon you will be filing by hand. Keep the chain on the bar, faster for a light touch up, and more control in creating the "C" between the top plate and the gullet.
