I guess technically one could also think of this hexatonic scale as a triad pair consisting of bVI and bVIm(b5) (in relation to the root of the V7alt being seen as the I) so in the case of C7alt a an Ab and Bbm(b5).

Talking about triad pairs then there is also the perhaps more common bV & bVI over V7 (Gb and Ab over C7) hexatonic triad pair giving one all the spicy notes of the altered dominant sound to play on top of a shell
