Im very happy with the results, but it sure did take a lot longer to cure then I was expecting. It even says on the package over night and you're good, not in my experience. Still, Im impressed with how well it adhered to the Kayak. I did a flag pole holder as well and that will give it a good strength test.

i did a repair on my step sons old town discovery conoe lucky for me the factory that builds them is just a 15 min drive from me so i went to them to find out what they recomended and was told fiberglass resin just make sure you sand the area down good so it will stick just mixed it up and poured it on then when it set up sanded it smooth and its held for 3 years so far but i will keep the jb weld in mind for a repair kit to keep in the boat

It will cure faster with mild heat. In the summer in Florida it's pretty much cured in 24 hrs. The best repair for plastic is welding. An inexpensive polyethylene welder and a large coil of weld rod in the work shop has made hundreds of repairs and mods that are nearly as, if not good as new. You can even match the color with the right plastic weld rod or scrap plastic pieces.

I'll check that out. They had a quick dry version right next to this kind but wanted to get comfortable with the real stuff before trying the quick dry. From now on its quick dry!

cool cool, there are differnt jb welds for cure times. the longer wait is a little stronger and is easier to use for bigger projects, i used jb weld when i did my magpul ak grip to fill some stuff in and it worked wonders

put it under a heat source and you will be amazed at how fast it cures(over night ), also make sure to mix, mix, mix, then mix again. The quick dry is not as strong

The Kayak is somewhat flexible and I fear Fiberglass would crack. We hit stuff a lot :-)

I use JB to repair the body of a vac. It looks just like a turbo charger and what I do is put it in the over on 200 degrees and bake it for an hour.
Lol .. Try that with your kayak.

I've always wanted to spend some time on the Saco. I've fished parts of it, but I don't think I was in the right areas.

It says equal parts, but yeah, It took 4 days for it to not feel soft. What ratio do you use?
