Nitecore MH20: 1000 Lumens Everyday Carry Flashlight - EDC / Survival/ Bug Out Bag

If something has 1000 lumens, I'm usually intrigued. The Nitecore MH20 has 1000 lumens and is surprisingly compact for having that much power. Being USB rechargable is also a pretty big win, so this one gets an overall thumbs up from ETV. If the head of the light was a little smaller it would carry easier in a front pocket, but the size of the head also give a nice wide beam. Check it out!

MH20 is the best option for everyday carry! Compact size, best interface and the USB. Output power is really nice!

Is there a mah rating for the recommend 18650 battery to in the flashlight a lot of 18650s out there just want to know if the 18650 used in the flashlight had to be a certain mah rating or amp rating?

I recommend the Nitenumen NE01. Clone of this light on Gearbest. Awesome light for $20.00

Great review on a great light.
Personally I opted for the Lumintop SD Mini, similar specs and considerably lower price.

I don't have either one of these lights, but I've been looking at the Nitecore EC-11 which is 900 lumens peak and has a bezel that is the same diameter as the shaft of the light. Also has a nice deep-carry claim on it. I can't imagine that 100 lumens, either way, is going to make a life-or-death difference, and that one looks a lot more EDC friendly.

The reason the 1000 lumens doesn't appear twice as bright as the 400 lumens is that for a light to appear twice as bright in our eyes, it needs to be 4 times as bright (for 400 to appear twice as bright it needs to be 1600 lumens). It has something to do with our eyes not adjusting in a linear manner.

Not a fan of a flashlight that goes from 1 lumen to 125* in a single mode swap. I would have preferred for Nitecore to have included a 10-20 lumen mode instead of the 590lm High.
