Anti-Semitic vandalism at Grand Rapids synagogue

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A rabbi from Temple Emanuel in Grand Rapids says he discovered anti-Semitic posters outside the synagogue.

He found the posters around 8 a.m. Sunday morning. People who attend the synagogue told News 8 that the posters were near the outside parking lot doors.

The rabbi did not say exactly what was on the posters. He immediately called police.

The rabbi said his temple had never had a problem like this before. He did not change any Sunday events.

Mayor Rosalynn Bliss expressed “standing united in rejecting these acts of hatred and anti-Semitism,” on Twitter late Sunday.

Also on Sunday, U.S. Rep. Justin Amash, I-Grand Rapids, condemned the posters, tweeting that “This act of hate has no place here or anywhere” and that the community must be “united against any effort to harass or intimidate the congregation of Temple Emanuel or any of our Jewish brothers and sisters.”

No arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon. The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating the case as malicious destruction of property. They encourage anyone with information to call investigators at 616.456.3400 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.

Today one day before the election our cemetery was desecrated. Trump was sprayed upon the headstones of my family and their friends.
But what I do know is that the great of greater Grand Rapids, people of all colors and religions will come out in force and help to fix this.
I am heartbroken.
