It’s hard not to smile when you’re in the company of Lavell McDaniel. He has the kind of laugh that makes others laugh harder. His positivity lights up the room. But Lavell’s knack for lifting others up goes beyond friends and family. As an EMT with Life EMS, positivity and compassion are an important part of his life calling. Last December, Lavell experienced a stroke in his ambulance, just after delivering a patient to the ER. He came to Mary Free Bed to get his groove back – and we are honored to be part of his recovery journey.
Lavell, age 36 of Grand Rapids, Michigan, spent seven weeks in Mary Free Bed Adult Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation Program – making incredible strides with physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and recreational therapy.
