Welcome to Valencia, Spain! As the 3rd largest city in Spain and the #1 expat city in the world, Valencia is a beautiful and energetic city that makes it hard not to fall in love with. Whether it’s the historic sites of Torres de Serranos and the Valencia Cathedral, the modern architectural beauty of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, the delicious culinary offerings of horchata, fartons, and paella, or the magnificent beaches, Valencia has something for everyone!

We had the privilege of spending one day exploring this historic port city, and while there’s no way that we could fit in everything that makes this city such a desirable destination, we did our best to do, see, and eat as much as possible during our short visit! We’re Matt & Nat, a part-time, non-remote travel couple based out of Nashville, TN.

We launched in 2021 by visiting all 50 US states & documented our entire journey on our Blog & here on YouTube! After spending a full year focused on such a defined goal, 2022 left us feeling a little lost & wondering "What's next?". We continued traveling & creating vlogs but always with the "What's next?" question lingering. During one of our trips, we came across the book “1,000 Places to See Before You Die” & were immediately drawn in by it & knew that it had to be a part of our adventures. So, in January 2023 we officially launched our “1,000 Places To See Before You Die” series where we’ve set out to see as many of the “1,000 Places To See Before You Die”… before we die!

It is a pity that you are not going to enjoy the Fallas in Valencia on March 15 to 19. In case you do not know what it is, you can see it on YouTube, the mascleta, fireworks castles, apart from the churros and the horchata, the most typical in fallas are the pumpkin fritters that are eaten with chocolate like churros. very good video greetings from valencia

I lived in Valencia for a few years. In El Carme Amazing city! Incredible music, food, and people. Not a lot of people think of Valencia or it’s outlying areas on their trips to Spain. It’s kind of a hidden gem. And yea, you guys got caught in the whole “city shuts down at 1pm” conundrum. I would recommend going back in March to experience Las Fallas, the fireworks festival

Tbh eating out of the paella pot is fine with family very normal! Also highly recommend the chicken one, it's mostly chicken and rabbit tbh the snail aren't that common as not many people like it. But yeah best part is the bottom of the pan when there's a light crust of crispy ish rice
