I just bought a taper lock pulley to mount on an electric motor I got and it broke in two as I tried putting it on.  I think it was too small and I was just too much of a caveman. Said 1108-28 on the taper lock, which I guess indicates the inner diameter, and the diameter of the axle was 28mm as well. Do you need to go above the measured size of the axle to make a taper lock fit? 28mm to 28mm wasn't a good fit for me, perhaps 29 or 30mm on the taper lock would work?

Are the keyway all the same on these or do I need to match the keyway size on the shaft
