The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the world’s last remaining Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, they fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum – to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae, captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to Niflheim rule. So, this is my beloved Ardyn. His gestures, it's not flamboyant. It's more than that! It's a daring gesture, specially he currently talk to King! I also can see it on his face, he's vicious and cunning. I think I love him even more now #swoon

Once you reach a certain scene in the game this scene has a lot more weight, not what it is said, but Ardyn's body languaje and how they made enphasis on that first step on the dais. It was a nice detail what they included here, so subtle yet so very important.

Games been out a while but I'm still not gonna spoil it. I wonder if Regis knew Ardyn's backstory or not....aka his true identity. I know Regis had the foresight to know the treaty was a trap and he was essentially a dead man but I'm not sure he would've known anything about Ardyn beyond him being the Niflheim Chancellor. Also, having played through the game already I know all the details of Noctis' destiny and what it entails...and it really gives new meaning to how much Regis struggled letting Noctis leave at the start of the game.
