To everyone who is asking - yes, indeed we plan to connect the Denver and Seattle museums so folks can call from one to the other through the historic machinery.

Wow, this is fantastic news! The preservation of Phil McCarter's collection is a huge boon for telephony history enthusiasts like myself. As a little girl, I had the opportunity to grow up surrounded by the sounds of telephones and the telegraph because I lived at the post office, with most of my family serving as postal workers. This upbringing has instilled in me a deep sensitivity and fascination with telecommunications. I'm so grateful to Phil for sharing this incredible legacy with the Connections Museum. I can't wait to visit the new Denver location and see this amazing collection come to life. Wishing Phil all the best as he continues to inspire us all! ☎♥

Phil has one of the most extensive collections of telephone sets I've ever seem. Not only does he have every model, he has like every model in every color that model was ever released in. I know Phil was getting up there in age and I always hoped that someone just as knowledgeable as him would take over his amazing collection. Very happy to know it's Connections Museum!

Thoughts on adding interconnects between the two museums? Would be so incredibly amazing if they could make phone calls to each other.

So awesome. SXSPhil is my favorite channel as a collector and I’ll be watching Connections from Upstate NY install his magnificent collection! So amazing to hear his legacy will be preserved.

From 2 soup cans connected with a wire to satellite communication... the why and how we got therre is SO crucial to appreciate how progress and discovery happens! These museums are GOLDEN for those that will desire to continue on this journey. From relays and crossbars to the transistor... .. THank you for your work in keeping the pieces on display that showcase the incremental steps of how we got to where we are now!

OMG! I worked on a lot of that equipment! Unfortunately I moved away from Denver seven years ago, but I do visit once or twice a year, so I'll stop by when I can. Great news! Thank you!

This is super exciting! I live in Colorado, so I hope to visit as soon as it's open! If I was not 2 hours away, I would totally volunteer.

Wonderful news! Hats off to Phil for this donation and preservation

of his commitment to the history of switching. So glad the HQ in Denver finally joins the Seattle Connections Museum to physically present the preservation and history of our switching technologies!❤

I was recently looking in to tours of the already existant Denver location, but it seemed rather restrictive.
It did not seem conducive to getting my elderly father in there on a reasonable schedule.
He retired from Bell back around '81, and I sure would like a chance for him to experience some of this stuff again.
Glad to hear the new location and expansion will be more widely open to the public.
