6.2 Generating Functions Part 1

In this video, we introduce the concept of generating functions as a power series, and incorporate a discrete PDF into the definition. After doing several examples, we derive a few properties, including an alternative way of finding expected value and variance. We end by showing how you can find probabilities from the generating function.
