Beautiful Private Model Railroad HO Scale Gauge Train Layout - Miniatur Tirolerland Vienna.
Miniatur Tirolerland is the name of a miniature world in the form of a model landscape in Vienna's 5th district, Margareten , in the immediate vicinity of the Naschmarkt.
The idea for a large miniature world with show effects goes back to the initiator Wolfgang Pröhl in 1996. At the end of 2010, a team led by initiator Wolfgang Pröhl worked on this project for five years, and it opened on November 11, 2016.
The 124 square meter model landscape on a scale of 1:87 ( nominal size H0 ) is divided into several parts. The center is the "capital" Wiensbruck. There are also four other villages, including the winter village of Filzbühel. A fantasy landscape was created that could be themed in Tyrol . In it, visitors will find numerous exact replicas of buildings from the real Tyrol, including the " Golden Roof ", the Ottoburg , many houses from Rattenberg and Kitzbühel , the Hahnenkamm cable car , the sunken church tower in Lake Reschen and the train station in Flirsch am Arlberg . Elements with a show effect are the "Tirolerländer Bergkirtag" or the Radio Wien Open Air in wintry Filzbühel. At the start of the new season on November 17, 2017, the Bergisel ski jump , which originally stands in Innsbruck, was presented to the public as part of the village of "Mösern".
A day in the miniature Tirolerland lasts 24 minutes with day and night control and a realistic twilight phase . A total of 28,000 figures and just as many lights ( LEDs ) were used, as well as around 5,500 trees and bushes. Dozens of trains and self-driving cars were installed as moving elements on over 2,000 meters of track and 200 meters of road.
