I did 190 km/h with my stock 1.4 hdi, but it was downhill.

I think you change gears incorrectly, it's not gasoline, from what I remember, the thrust was the strongest smth between 2 400 rpm and 3700 rpm everything higher is a loss and i think all diesels work that way

Best results change at around 3000rpm.

My mums 207 hdi 1.4 2011 is faster than that stock I also had one 207 but 2006 but that was also faster than mums and your car that car has no intercooler and one would improve performance
