I just went to check on what the Cyrus initiative focus is supposed to do, it's supposed to give a land warfare facility in Tehran, the reason it does nothing is likely because one was already built somewhere

Reminds me of battle for the Bosphorus and the Turkish focus tree, doesn't let you get into the action until mid to late game unless you break from the focus tree. And it always devolves into a battle to the death with the allies because Paradox hasn't implemented the tools to make peace with the allies upon securing what you want and pushing the allies back. I think the best thing would be if they made it so if a minor power fighting the allies during a major war deals a certain number of casualties the nation can white peace with the allies by decision and that nation keeps occupied land

The absolute lack of general portraits pisses me off the most actually. It’s apparently impossible to generate 200 faces for Paradox.

I played Iran this dlc on non-historical. Afghans took Pakistan from the east India company, Russia went fascist, Germany and Poland went communist and went to war with the Czech Entent which had France in it. Britain went the monarchist route and declared war on America.

All of this had the time to begin and end before I was far enough in my focus tree to join the fun…

I didn’t realize just how broken the faction system has become, like I get that some nation doing something really bad and generating tension should result in them being kicked out. But the threshold should be noticeably higher than the one to get let in, that way you don’t have the flip flopping like we’ve seen in all the games previously.

I much prefer how kaiserreich does it, a large amount of focuses, but only being 21-47-70 days long to add more depth, makes you feel like you’re doing a whole lot. While having a big focus tree it’s actually faster than the 70 day focus spam in vanilla

There's basically two viable paths for Iran: Monarchist as Mohammad Pahlavi because you get +2 extra recruitable population, and [Brown Ideology] where you bumrush the rest of the Middle East and get fast cores. Mohammad is basically the same as Finland where you sit around building up to wait for when the enemies invade you.

in historical when youre fighting a defensive war against the soviets and the allies you get access to that little mini tree thats sorta similar to the one in the ethiopian tree for the italo-ethiopian war. in this tree if you go on the offensive you can force a peace and get territorial concessions and all the countries that fought you get a big debuff the only problem is that it only peaces you out with the soviets, so you get land from the soviets and they peace you out via event but the allies get the debuff but they stay at war with you.

5:08 Civil Wars definitely are a little funky right now. I was playing Lithuania and had to do a civil war because of my focus tree. The enemy side got nine divisions, and I only got one. Had no choice but to open up the console or restart
