Hör på mig ett tag ett slag i dag
mens jag helt vant försöker
analysera

analysera
denna lilla melodi som blivit till
mest på skämt, på skoj, på kul, på lek
å-som närmast torde föra tanken
till

What is here happaning is something amazing! I studied jazz-singing, and I really don’t understand, why did I need to wait 20 years to meet her art!!!

My first was only 7 years old when I saw this on Television in -63.
I’m Swedish, so I can understand the lyrics!
She makes it soooo it’s “ Live “
But...it’s very hard...
Still love here ! She was an amazing artist !

This track appeared on an English late-sixties LP set from Polydor, called _Stereo Wonderland_ and I have played it many, many times over the years. Watching it here, sung live, I was not surprised to find that Alice sounded just as good in performance as she did on the record. I appreciate Rigmor Gustaffson, too—and for similar reasons.

English lyrics below:
Listen to me for a while, for a bit, today
while I vaguely try to analyze
this little melody which has come to be
mostly as a joke, for fun, as a game
and which almost ought to make you think of
Johann Sebastian and one of his fugues,
but which also has something of rhythm and sting,
of jazz and swing, bebop and cool, whatever you want

Here comes the bridge, so I'm not done
and now there's trouble ahead, just listen closely to this,
when I draw breath and begin to wander up the scale,
up the treble and luckily it's over now

But then the melody comes back again,
sing with me my friend and you'll learn the art,
how to trill like the bird in the sky
mostly as a joke, for fun, as a game, whatever you want

Listen to me for a while, for a bit, today
while I vaguely try to analyze
this little melody which has come to be
mostly as a joke, for fun, as a game
and which almost ought to make you think of
Johann Sebastian and one of his fugues,
but which also has something of rhythm and sting,
of jazz and swing, bebop and cool, whatever you want

when I draw breath and begin to wander up the scale,
up the treble and luckily it's over now

But then the melody comes back again,

how to trill like the bird in the sky
mostly as a joke, for fun, as a game, whatever you want

Alica Babs the greatest jazz star of Sweden, all time. Here I think 1963 or so.

Underbart bra!

Nevermind Abba or Roxette, this is the real Swedish Pop.

This is a great number -- and she is an excellent talent. Would anybody be able to translate the lyrics?

Alice's daughter, Titti Sjöblom, is pretty talented too.
However, nowhere near as famous.
