When to DISCLOSE You're Carrying to the Cops #police #lawyer

If you're about to get patted down by the cops, it's best to disclose that you're carrying beforehand. As a criminal defense attorney, I have seen countless cases of cops overreacting when they find a 🔫 on someone, even if they're in a Constitutional Carry state. They automatically think the person is hiding something and is dangerous, even if they are just invoking their 5th Amendment. Stay ALIVE, then fight for your rights in court later.

Officer safety is officer cowardice.. my safety is up to me. Legal owners and carriers are not the problem. Dumb cops are the problem. Respect me and I will respect you. In this state you can defend yourself against any and all aggression --- badges or not....

Tell a cop you have a gun and they will Not hear or care that you have a carry permit. The will PANIC either way. They will arrest you for brandishing, It is their job to be sure They are safe.

Must be by state and jurisdiction. Every single time I’ve ever been pulled over, one of the first things out of my mouth is “I have a concealed carry permit and have a firearm in the car/truck!” The next words are usually “where is it?” And well, as long as you don’t reach for it”! Done dilly. No issues. Just be upfront and honest!

My state does not require a permit to carry concealed. However, it's in everybody's best interest you inform.

In Oklahoma you can lrgally have any rifle or shotgun in your vehicle, my shotgun was in plain view next to my leg and I feared that the officer would see it and become suspicous of me not telling him. I said "Officer, I just wantes to let you know that there is a shotgun right here" and he simply said Okay. Then he politely asked if I wanted to go sit in the passenger seat of his car while he ran my license and didnt even question why I had the shotgun. I think thats exactly how an officer should handle that in Oklahoma.
