The DHS is hiring thousands of more employees in the upcoming years and many of these employees will be in the cbp and the usbp. Two positions that are needed are customs and border patrol officers and border patrol agents. But what is the difference between a customs and border patrol officer (cbp officer) and a border patrol agent? Their issue is “Ageism” for Officer and Agent positions - max age 37/ 40 - mandatory retirement at age 56, I believe. Prior city/ state/ county LE experience doesn’t matter if you’re over 40 - non federal law enforcement agencies do not have age restrictions. I can see why CBP will be extremely understaffed in the coming years.

And I understand the dynamic of job culture today in the U.S. corporate atmosphere. You'll notice if you post jobs anyone in the world can get, you will indeed get more traffic. But I appreciate you covering a sector only can Americans attain.

No ageism for the 3700 IRS revenue agents being hired at 250 locations across the US.

All the other alphabet soup agencies are going to have the same problem. There was a hiring surge post 9/11. Majority of those people are going to be coming up on retirement. CBP will never be able to hit their numbers because LE is universally having problems recruiting, and CBP has a high failure rate for their polygraph test. The FBI used to get north of 60, 000 applications years and years ago, last I heard they were getting somewhere around 16k now.

We have a military member that completed the US Air Force FLETC course in Georgia and are curious to know if it will transferred over; or is it not honored, and they have to complete the CBP FLETC in Georgia?

Any updates on when Fed Employees will return to the office 3 days per week? There are some components that are already in the office 2-3 days per week. My component is still working from home 5 days.
