Franz Liszt: Album-Leaves/Albumblätt/Albumblätter (Part 5).

0:00 - Album-Leaf in C minor 'Pressburg', S.163c
This Album-Leaf is a quotation from the Grande Valse de Bravoure S.209.

0:19 - Album-Leaf, Allegretto in Ab major 'Frankfurt', S.163o
Another Album-Leaf from Petite Valse Favorite S.212i comes out, pretty similar to S.163n, this Album-Leaf can be found through an auction catalogue.

0:32 - Feuille d'album in E major No.1, S.164
The theme of the E major piece can also be found in the Valse mélancolique.

2:08 - Album-Leaf 'Adagio - Religioso in C', S.164l
This Album-Leaf was perhaps written for religious issues, written in 1825 and it's based on Chapelle de Guillaume Tell (from Album d'un Voyageur S.156/5)

2:42 - Album-Leaf in 'Andantino in Eb major', S.164p
This Album-Leaf is a short quotation from Magyar Dalok S.242 No.7 (which it later became Hungarian Rhapsody S.244/4) specifically at the beginning from the 2nd theme.

2:54 - Album-Leaf in E major 'Orpheus', S.165f
An Album-Leaf from Orpheus comes here, it quotates the Lento section from the Symphonic poem and its lovely dedicated and given to madame Bourry "Pour Madame Bourry avec mille affectueux souvenirs et hommages" and dated ‘Mai 57 - Weymar’.

3:49 - Album-Leaf 'Agnus Dei of the Missa solemnis', S.167c
The Poco adagio aus der Graner Messe is an excerpt from the Agnus Dei of the composer's Missa Solemnis, S.9.

4:46 - Album-Leaf in C major 'Lyon', S.167s
An Album-Leaf from the so fantastic and stirring march section from Lyon (from Album d'un Voyageur S.156/1) but with pretty slight changes.

5:07 - Album-Leaf in E major 'Cantique d' Amour' S.167t
This Album-Leaf is a simplified quotation from Cantique d' Amour (from Harmonies Poétiques et Religieuses S.173/10), this little little leaf is ready for a completion as I see.

5:57 - Album-Leaf in D 'Hugenots' S.167x
This Album-Leaf can be found through a portrait from Liszt, the source from the portrait is at the New York Public Library, which its perhaps a known leaf, this Album-Leaf quotates the known Reminiscences des Hugenots piece, but also the key signature from that leaf its pretty curious, the piece itself is in D while the G key is natural.

6:07 - Klavierstück in Db dur, S.189a No.2
The theme which is immediately recognisable as the opening of the Ballade No 1 served Liszt for several album-leaves, some of which, clearly given as private gifts, are absolutely identical to each other. The two Klavierstücke represent the differing texts available, the D flat version being in the same key as the Ballade, and the A flat version being numbered 2 to distinguish it from the completely different piano piece in A flat which shares the same number in the Searle catalogue.

6:49 - Album-Leaf in E major (Liebestraume No.2 Album-Leaf), S.540a?
This signed leaf (curiously on an sketchbook) where Liszt dedicated to Madame T. Kats is an entire quotation from Alternative from the Preludes et Harmonies Poetiques et Religieuses set (S.171d/7) which it later became a base for Liebestraume S.541/2. There are pretty slight changes between S.171d/7 and this S.540a? leaf.

Many from these leaves are available on IMSLP, engraved and edited by The MódicaLiszt :) BIG shoutouts to him!!!!! And we have to give another shoutout to Minkyu Kim for providing sources and Album-Leaves that we haven't known of :D

You know it's great when album leaves turn into sacred stuff

The theme in 'Adagio - Religioso in C' S.164l is in La chapelle de Guillaume Tell (I think it's closer to the L'album d'un voyageur version)

Thanks, I like how much attention you play to the lesser known album leaves lol (they're still known to me though).
