If you can't join 'em, beat 'em! When his long-time dance partner abandons him for the Ziegfeld Follies, Don Hewes decides to show who's who what's what by choosing any girl out of a chorus line and transforming her into a star. So he makes his choice and takes his chances. Of course, since Fred Astaire portrays Don and Judy Garland plays the chorine, we know we're in for an entertainment sure thing.

Judy Garland was one of the best singers of the Golden Age of Cinema. No one can touch her vocal range and soulful delivery.

Tony Bennett once said, "Judy Garland is the greatest performer who ever lived." I would tend to agree.

This shouldn’t have had the final part of the song cut, when the two of them are walking on Fifth Avenue and an off-screen chorus finishes the lyrics.

🎹 Judy actually sang with me when I was a young pianist/singer at The Top Of The Town penthouse club in the Shelton Towers Hotel in NYC...1968. 🎹

Judy had amazing intonation. Every word she sang was a beautiful melody in itself.

I love that, at the film's end, it is Judy chasing Fred (sort of), instead of the other way around. The "just like a man" comment is downright sassy, but also refreshingly confident, which we do not normally see in a Garland character. And, of course, the song is magnificent.

Look at her, wooing him like a champs. I love how he get's all nervous and flustered, but OH he cannot resist that charm of her's!

I adore this film.

I watch this movie every year on Easter. Its bitter sweet now to have to watch it without my Grandmother. But I will continue the tradition.

Fred Astaire makes all his co-stars look & sound great. Lest we forget the composers, Irving Berlin wrote such beautiful music.

Love this version of the song! It is a bit jazzier than the original. Clifton Webb's original recording in 1932 really captures the Easter spirit. Church bells and all!
