According to Angela Levin, Harry has been unpredictable, volatile, shouting down the phone and being angry and demanding with his father. Issues like seeking financial support, support for his court cases, accusations, etc. make the calls very stressful for the King. Hence avoiding H on the phone. If it's true that Harry has been taking drugs, or necking wine with his wife and then making such calls, I can imagine they would be upsetting calls to take.

I was just thinking about how when H&MM came over here, that they went and bought the most prestigious house and vehicles and furniture and everything… if they wanted the private life they sure showed up with the bling! They didn’t want privacy- they wanted praise, adoration and popularity.
