You are going to school and have submitted your acceptance letter. Why did the embassy say they were not convinced about your intended stay? Your acceptance letter shows that you want to study, not on a tourist visa. I think you lied on your visa application, you probably did not apply for the right type of visa.

What did you lie about. Because you said at the beginning that you were going for studies. Probably you must have told them in the interview that you were going for studies. So I dont understand what you lied about??

No they are not so smart. You just don't think like them. Your lives are different there. Europe is not worth it, if they don't want you, you don't need them too

Thanks for sharing, im not 100% sure of being honest in a visa application, for example most of us are hoping to do odd jobs to make some money.For whatever reason NEVER say you are going to do casual jobs.
anyway I have never needed an italian Visa so I don`t know but any schengen country if you say you are going to visit and hope "even to help a family friend" who has their own business, your visa will be denied.

Interesting story how things have changed...before this shengen thing was introduced going to Italy was a cakewalk...how do i know? I was in Italy in the late 90's, 1998 to be exact as a Tourist was there for about 5 months before coming home Kenyans travelling there those days never required a visa to travel to Italy..I barely even did an interview, the Italian staff at their embassy even gave us brochures(I was travelling with someone else) on the tourist sites and advised us to have money and know where we were going and that was it they were super nice to us..those were the good old days..their embassy was located in the international lifehouse building which i later found out it was owned by the late Chris Kirubi.. I wonder if thats still the case today as i have been away from home for a few years(Currently based in the US)...I hope Luciana things work out or worked out and you made it to Italy cant believe how tough they are making it to people trying to go there or any other destination in Europe...for the record i had a ball there and would love to visit again someday.
