Since its inception, the Pixel has always been a high-end brand. From the Chromebook Pixel, to the Pixel C, each iteration served to showcase what Google envisioned as the best hardware, and as a result, none came for cheap. 2016 is when the company draws the line with smartphones, and it's time for our final verdict with our full review of the Google Pixel.

2016 is a very tough year to compete. For starters Google pretty much created the Premium midrange category with the Nexus 4, showing the world that you didn't need to spend a crazy amount of cash to get a really good smartphone. Fastforward three years and now the market is flooded with great premium midrangers, and by consequence raising the stakes for what defines a flagship each year.

Google's decision to call its new smartphone lineup the Pixel speaks for itself. This is the company's showcase of what an Android smartphone should be, so that'll be the main theme for this review.

I am absolutely in love with my Pixel: NO lag, seamless app transitioning, amazing screen (even on a 1080p display), out-of-this-world camera, and surprisingly loud speaker all make for the complete package in my eyes.
I can do without all the bells and whistles and forgive the no OIS, expandable storage, wireless charging, and waterproofing because it PERFORMS EVERYTHING ELSE FLAWLESSLY.
Seriously, until you use one as an everyday driver, you just won't understand how sublime it is to own one..

The extra bucks gives you unlimited storage, better camera, better battery, assistant and vr experience (comparing it with the oneplus); I have a Galaxy s7 edge and wouldn't change it for the Pixel, but I believe that it's correctly priced according with what it's offering.

I thought the chin was on purpose for the use with Daydream VR. Otherwise the clamps would scratch the screen and cover the speakers.

Honest review from a pixel owner. People give a lot of shit about this phone for no god damn reason, especially in the pricing department. yes the phone doesn't have water resistance or have stereo speakers but it's a solid phone with no lag or glitch it takes some freaking awesome pictures, it got amazing battery life and also the quick charging and I can say that after using my phone for 3 weeks now.

I'm using the pixel xl. . . and unless you use it you don't know what you missed. . . also rather than getting a apple for that price is like burning money. . . I think pixel is worth it. . . I got it with the vr headset

THE REAL PROBLEM WITH THIS PHONE. You could just wait for your phone to be updated to N and get all the same software features (minus daydream) for nothing.

It does take a hardware support for image stabilisation which is the phones gyroscope !
