I set one of these up for my parents about 8 years ago. Two years later, they discontinued the product and stopped supplying PC software and firmware updates for it.

This combined with two WD drive crib deaths I experienced has convinced me to never buy a WD product again.

That's pretty disappointing of WD. Their HDDs are really good (FAR better than Seagate most of the time), but thank God they don't come with built-in operating systems.
