I don't think most people understand the core issue here. The originally guy didn't tear up the ground. That's the point. And what makes the call tough for the official. IF the original kicker tore up the spot with his kick then they should switch spots. If conditions were bad originally then they should stay at the same spot. This is the crux of the issue. Now watch the original kickers plant foot. It sinks way into the grass before he ever kicks. Bad conditions. So it's fair for the other team to kick from there.
