The song is a tribute to Aaliyah and Left Eye, beloved friends of Missy Elliott and T-Boz & Chilli of TLC. Also featuring vocals from Tweet. From Missy's 2003 album "Under Construction".

Losing Aaliyah and then Left Eye not even a year later was like a big old double gut punch to a girl like me who came up listening to their music in the 90s and early 00s. This is such a beautiful tribute, and I wasn't even aware of its existence until just a few minutes ago. RIP ladies, you were among the musical giants of my earlier years.

When Missy said " Aaliyah she asked me why?" I broke down could you imagine losing ur very young, beautiful, and talented daughter. Also when Chilli said " Aaliyah if you see Left eye, tell her me and boz miss her too" I cried

The woman speaking in the beginning of this song is Aaliyah's mother. It's a actual voicemail recoding she left Missy Elliott with instructions on where to send flowers for Aaliyah's funeral.. So heartbreaking. Aaliyah came from very private and close nit religious family. To this day since her passing there has been very little spoken publicly from her mother or brother. I truly believe the pain Aaliyah's mother feels from her death comes from the fact that she lost her only daughter so young and tragically at the hands of the evil entertainment industry.

The fact that Aaliyah's mom's voicemail to Missy was featured at the top of this song speaks volumes how very close and tight-knit Missy & Timbaland were with Aaliyah's immediate family. Glad to know they are still close after all these years and they've been keeping one another company since Babygirl's passing. She will forever be loved and missed. RIP Aaliyah & Left Eye.
