Solar panels - there are so many different types of solar panels out there, that it can get confusing trying to figure out which ones might serve you best. We live in a pretty cool age for solar panels, in that you can get them in all shapes and sizes, rigid, flexible, foldable, big, small, cheap, expensive. Not all solar panels are created equal though - some have better efficiency, some are more durable, some pack down tiny, and others are huge. Great video! That 1000 watt Jackery is the equivalent to 40 amp hour battery. Cost $1000, Instead I bought a Battle Bourne 100 amp hour battery for $950. Way more storage for running the ARB or Demotic freezers on those cloudy days camping.

You read my mind. I actually have been looking into solar for a few weeks now. My feedback on that is don't rush to spend a ton of money quickly. Build it up slowly and be willing to sell certain parts as you upgrade. And don't go cheap on key parts, just mix and match. Awesome job and explanation.

I dipped my feet into solar with a 100W renogy rigid mono panel ($90), LiFEPO4 20 Ah ($200), ham radio built charge controller ($150). I camp at state parks and it'll run my Engel fridge and the portable radio ops. To upgrade I would want either a 100Ah AGM or LiFEPO4 battery, ideally or get an all in one system like a Bluetti and run my panel for 7+ day trips.

Cool. I use a similar setup. Jackery panels to the Jackery 1000 to my Dometic CFX35. Had to send the J1000 back on a recall though so waiting to get it back. Having the Dometic was huge for us recently cause our kitchen fridge went down during the pandemic lockdown.

Great video I am learning all about solar and have a few of the systems you showed. My new addition is a 40w flexsolar panel it has usbc usba and dc5221 outputs...I am going to pair it with bluetti's . smallest ac2a. The new technology is amazing and with fast charging on such a small panel..blows me away.
